Rare Cased, Inscribed and Engraved Merwin Hulbert & Co. Double Action Pocket
Revolver
Serial no. 9185, .32 centerfire caliber, 5-shot fluted cylinder, Merwin Hulbert &
Co., address and patent marking on top of rib of 3-inch barrel; engraved in Merwin Hulbert
& Co. style with punched marks, and with song birds on left side of frame.
Nickel-plated with case-hardened base to folding hammer and trigger; mother-of-pearl
grips. In blind-tooled leather-covered box, contour lined with dark burgundy satin.
"BLANCHE E. TRIPP" inscribed on backstrap, within the distinctive style of
Merwin Hulbert & Co.
Condition: Excellent. 98% nickel; 70% case-hardening; light fading to
plating. Case excellent, wear on exterior; interior lightly frayed.
Note: Rarely encountered factory inscription, particularly rare to a lady, possibly a
prostitute or madam. Case of the Hartley & Graham style.
