U.S. Colt Third Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver Inscribed Quantrell, 1863
Serial no. 10775, .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with German silver front sight and New
York City address. Brass triggerguard assembly, the left side stamped "F".
Walnut grips. Left and right grip inspector's cartouches are worn but legible and seven
shallow notches [kills/]. Butt faintly inscribed: Quantrell/1863.
Condition: Very good. Metal with dark age patina and scattered light
pitting. 75-80% cylinder scene. Grips with light wear and patina. Quantrell inscription
possibly spurious. No provenance available. Action very good.
