U.S. Colt Third Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver
Serial no. 13675, .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel marked: Address Sam Colt New York
City. Blued finish. Standard etched cylinder scene with legend: U.S. Dragoons/Colt's
Patent. Case-hardened loading lever, frame and hammer. Left side of frame marked: Colt's
/Patent/U.S. Brass triggerguard and gripstrap assembly. Letter "K" inspector
stamp on right side of trigger guard assembly. Letter "V" on left side of
triggerguard. One-piece walnut grips with faint LH cartouche on left grip and faint
partial cartouche on right grip.
Condition: Fine. Barrel and barrel lug retaining approximately 30-40%
finish, primarily on sides of lug and under the barrel. 100% cylinder scene. Loading
lever, frame and hammer retaining approximately 50-60% case-hardening with areas of vivid
color remaining. Triggerguard and gripstrap assembly are polished brass. Grips very good
to excellent with minor period repair splice to front of left grip. Minor dents and
bruises. Action tight and crisp. A fine overall example.
