Fine and Elegant Kentucky Flintlock Pistol by C. Bird & Co. Philadelphia, c. 1800
.44 caliber flintlock, 9-inch octagonal smoothbore barrel with brass blade front sight;
steel rear sight integral with upper tang; engraved lockplate with C. BIRD &
Co/PHILADA/WARRANTED marking; brass mounts, most of them engraved, including pineapple
finial on triggerguard plate; plain brass sideplate; hickory ramrod. Stock of maple with
simulated striping, oil finished.
Condition: Fine. Gray patina to steel; light pitting; mellow patina
to brass; stock with nicks and wear.
