12 Gauge Joseph Lang Boxlock Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun
Serial no. 17778. 12 gauge. Re-blued 25 inch barrels. Churchill-style rib. Casehardened
boxlock action engraved with foliate scroll and game scenes of pheasants and grouse on the
sides of the action. Floorplate with foliate scroll. Extended rib with third fastener.
Ejectors. Automatic safety. Refinished straight stock of straight- grained walnut with
some fiddleback. One inch extension with grooved butt. Checkered panels at the head of the
stock. Drop points. Vacant oval. Refinished checkered fore-end with Anson release.
Leather trunk case with red baize interior. Reproduction maker's label.
Condition: Fine, as partially redone. Barrels show 99% reblued
finish. Bright bores. Right bore shows small area of isolated pitting. Action shows a
silver patina. Refinished stock shows nicks and scratches. Stocked pinned at head.
One-inch crack at rear of tang. Re-cut checkering. Refinished handling marks. Case in Good
condition. Interior shows losses and missing partitions. Exterior shows staining, scuffing
and losses to stitching.
