American Halfstock Single Shot Percussion Target Rifle by John Krider, Phladelphia
.40 caliber, 32-inch half-round, half-octagonal barrel with one-inch rebated muzzle and
top flat marked: John Krider, Philadelphia. Steel under-rib. Handsomely engraved and
case-hardened breechblock, tang, hammer and lock marked: J. Krider. Double set-triggers.
Unique Allen's Patent adjustable dial, tang-mounted folding peep sight. Horn fore-end cap.
Fine scroll-engraved German silver mountings. Single oval wedge barrel escutcheon. Wooden
ramrod with brass tip.
Condition: Fine to excellent. Barrel and rib showing smooth brown age
patina. Case-hardening retaining some depth and vibrance. Wood excellent with sharp
checkering and light wear overall. Fine bore.
