Rare and Exceptional Sharps-Borchardt Single Shot Breechloading Hunter Rifle
Serial no. 18281, .40 caliber, 26-inch round blued barrel with German silver blade-type
front sight and ladder-type rear sight. Top of barrel marked: Old Reliable/Sharps Rifle
Co. Bridgeport, Conn. Case-hardened breechblock, frame and lever. Full markings on left
side of frame. Varnished walnut stocks.
Condition: Excellent to mint. 95-100% finish with slight fading to
case-hardening. Wood excellent , mint with a few insignificant marks. One of the finest
examples in existence. Light wear to buttplate.
Note: Only 71 of this model were manufactured.
