Rare Virginia Manufactory First Model Flintlock Pistol
.75 caliber smoothbore, 12 1/4-inch round barrel marked P at breech; lock with pointed
terminus marked VIRGINIA forward of hammer, and stamped vertically RICHMOND/1810 at tail;
steel mountings. Walnut full stock with double front barrel band; brass blade front sight
on rear band.
Condition: Very good. Brown patina, pitting; replacement hammer and
ramrod; crack to triggerguard plate from screw to left when viewed from bottom. Stock worn
and with nicks, mars; crack from rear of lock and matching on opposite side of stock;
chips from stock at bottom rear of lock, and light chipping around sideplate and at rear
of barrel band.
Note: Largest of the U.S. Martial flintlock pistols.
