Rare Virginia Manufactory Second Model Flintlock Pistol Dated 1814, Assembly Number
222
.64 caliber smoothbore, 10-inch round barrel marked 222 on underside, as well as on
inside of sideplate; lock with pointed terminus marked VIRGINIA forward of hammer, and
stamped vertically RICHMOND/1814 at tail; brass mountings including brass buttcap screw;
walnut stock; barrel with swivel ramrod. Assembly number 6 inside triggerguard. VII on
stock under sideplate; inside of lockplate with P and 00 and several single 0 markings.
Condition: Good to very good. Brown patina, pitting; replaced top jaw
and one screw; stock with dents, mars, chipping from upper edge of stock bordering lock;
gouge on bottom of stock adjacent to front of triggerguard tang.
