Exceptional U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle, Made in 1889
Serial no. 463597, .45-70 caliber with 500 grain bullet. 32 5/8-inch barrel with
Buffington military rear sight and standard front sight. Blued finish. Breech marked:
V/P/[eaglehead]/A/P. Case-hardened low-arch breechblock marked: U.S./Model/1884. Lock
marked: U.S./Springfield. Steel ramrod. Standard walnut stock with crisp SMP/1889
inspector cartouche. Sling mounts. Leather military sling marked: Rock
Island/Arsenal/E.H.S.
Condition: Excellent to mint. Completely original, retaining 99-100%
finish with vibrant case-hardening. Wood mint with no wear present. Sling very good.
