Rare U.S. Hall-North Model 1840 Type II, First Variation Breechloading Percussion
Carbine
Unserialized. .52 caliber, 21-inch browned rifled barrel with two steel bands and open
sights. Case-hardened breechblock marked: U.S./S. North/Middltn/Conn./1841.
"Fishtail" breech lever. Standard walnut stock with crisp EB inspector
cartouche. Saddle ring on rear of triggerguard tang designating the "Type II"
model. Steel ramrod.
Condition: Excellent for this model. Retaining approximately 85-90%
original finish with scattered light wear and patina. Wood with light wear and a few minor
dents and blemishes. Minor hairline crack behind action.
Note: Only 500 of this model manufactured. [see Flayderman 9A-274]
