Exceptional Maynard First Model Breechloading Civil War Carbine
Serial no. 2959, .50 caliber, Maynard tape primer system. 20-inch round barrel with
open sights. Blued finish. Case-heardened hammer and frame. Tang-mounted Vernier long
range folding peep sight. Properly addressed on sides of frame and on patchbox door.
Standard walnut stock with no fore arm. Case-hardened buttplate and patchbox containing
original Maynard orange patent date label, together with original roll of unopened caps
for the Maynard system. No sling swivel which is correct for this model.
Condition: Excellent to mint. Retaining approximately 95-98% finish
overall with minor thinning on barrel and one tiny area of spotting on right side of
frame. Wood excellent to mint.
