Serial no. 2076, .52 caliber, 20-inch round blued barrel with octagonal section at
breech. Standard military ladder-type sight [broken]. Case-hardened hammer and frame
marked: Gwyn & Campbell/Patent/1862/Hamilton, O./Union/Rifle. Fire-blued breechblock
and upper tang. Saddle ring and bar. Standard walnut stock with crisp WHR inspector
cartouche. Third variant with locking lever.
Condition: Excellent. Retaining approximately 85-90% finish with
scattered wear to relief edges. Vibrant case-hardening. Excellent wood.
