Serial no. 3100, .50 caliber, scarce 22-inch barrel with standard military sights.
Wooden tompion. Blued finish. Seven-shot magazine. Swivel-breech marked: Kentucky.
Extractor. Case-hardened frame, triggerguard and buttplate. Frame marked: Meridien Manfg.
Co./Meridien, Conn. Standard walnut stocks with sling mounts.
Condition: Excellent to mint. 95-100% finish with slight wear to some
relief edges. Vibrant case-hardening. Wood mint.
Note: 5000 of this model were issued under a contract with the state of Kentucky for
use by General William T. Sherman's troops during the Atlanta campaign. They were produced
too late for use in the Civil War.
