Fine U.S. Martially Marked Model 1816 Flintlock Pistol by Simeon North
.54 caliber smoothbore, 9 1/16-inch round barrel, with P/US and OA on breech; lock with
S. NORTH marking, over American eagle motif with U and S either side over MIDLN CON.
markings; steel mountings, brass flashpan; blue and case-hardened lock; balance browned
finish; oil-finished walnut stock with U.S. Ordnance inspector cartouche OA, on left side.
Tiny X and . stampings on various parts, including sideplate and sideplate screws.
Condition: Fine. 35% browned finish; minor wear and patina, pitting.
Stock with nicks and marks; crack to right of triggerguard strap and at butt.
Note: An early example of the Model 1816 North U.S. Martial pistol.
