U.S. Martially Marked Simeon North Model 1816 Flintlock Pistol
.72 caliber smoothbore, 9 1/16-inch round barrel, with slight octagonal contour at
breech, marked with P/US; lock with S. NORTH marking, over American eagle motif with U and
S either side over MIDLN CON markings; steel mountings, brass flashpan; blue and
case-hardened lock; balance appears to have been bright finish; oil-finished walnut stock
with U.S. Ordnance inspector cartouche, LS on left side. Tiny o and . stampings on various
parts including sideplate and sideplate screws.
Condition: Very good. Sound condition with some pitting and age gray
patina. Stock with some mars and wear.
