Whitney-Burgess-Morse Third Model Lever Action Repeating Carbine
Serial no. 1194, .45-70 caliber, 22-inch round barrel with standard front sight and
two-position rear sight. Proper G.W. Morse address. Two barrel bands. Seven-shot magazine.
Blued finish. Saddle ring. Case-hardened hammer, fore-end cap and buttplate. Serpentine
lever. Walnut stocks with cleaning rod reservoir in butt. Cleaning rod present. Crescent
butt.
Condition: Excellent to mint. Approximately 90-95% finish with
scattered light wear to relief edges. Minor fading to case-hardening. Wood excellent.
Note: Only 500 of these carbines were manufactured. This example is one of the only
third models known and was manufactured in 1880s.
