.54 caliber smoothbore, 10-inch round barrel, with JDJ/P/US on breech; lock with S.
NORTH marking, over American eagle motif with U and S either side over MIDLTN CONN.
markings forward of hammer, date 1822 beneath hammer sliding safety at tail of lock; steel
mountings, brass flashpan; blue and case-hardened lock; balance browned finish;
oil-finished walnut stock with partially obliterated U.S. Ordnance inspector cartouche on
left side.
Condition: Very good to fine. 10% brown finish, remaining, with gray
and brown patina, pitting; stock with nicks and mars, primarily on left side of stock.
