Fine U.S. Martially Marked Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol by Robert Johnson
.54 caliber smoothbore, 8 1/2-inch round barrel, with US/JH/P on breech; lock with US
over R. JOHNSON/MIDDN CONN./1842 markings; steel mountings, brass flashpan; blue and
case-hardened lock; oil-finished walnut stock with two U.S. Ordnance inspector cartouches
JCB and WAT on left side. Individual letter stamp B on various parts.
Condition: Fine. Gray and brown patina; light surface pitting; 50%
old varnish on steel parts; stock fine with light marks, except ding around pin near
cartouches.
