NRA Award Winning U.S. Martially Marked Model 1842 Percussion Navy Issue Pistol by
Henry Deringer
.54 caliber smoothbore, 6-inch round barrel marked USN/RP/P at breech, lock marked
US/DERINGER/PHILADELA; brass mountings; oil-finished walnut stock. Made without rear
sight. Numeral 2 stamped on left side of stock opposite lock. AJ on triggerguard.
Condition: Very good. Gray patina, pitting; stock worn. Replacement
nipple.
Note: This derringer won a silver medal at the NRA show in San Antonio in 1977. It was
one of ten outstanding firearms receiving this award.
