U.S. Martially Marked Model 1842 Percussion Pistol by H. Aston
.54 caliber smoothbore, 8 1/2-inch round barrel, with US/JH/P on breech; 1849 on upper
tang; lock dated 1849 and with US and H. Aston, Middletown markings; oil-finished walnut
stock with U.S. Ordnance inspector cartouche SK and WAT on left side; inspector letter
marks on various parts, including K on brass topstrap.
Condition: Very good to fine. Gray and brown patina to steel, light
pitting most pronounced on barrel. Stock with nicks and light marks.
