U.S. Martially Marked Model 1842/43 Percussion Navy Issue Pistol by N.P. Ames
.54 caliber smoothbore, 6-inch round barrel marked USN/1845/RC/P at breech, lock marked
N.P. AMES/SPRINGFIELD/MASS; USN/1845 vertically at tail of lock; brass mountings; oil
finished walnut stock with NWP inspector cartouche on left side; small letter stamp R on
triggerguard and buttplate. Made without rear sight.
Condition: Good to very good. Gray patina, pitting, primarily on
barrel; brass with mellow patina; stock worn and with nicks and mars.
